Dada Closet Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 8, 2026
Dada Closet ("the app") is made by Studio WJ ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app.
In short:
- No account. You don't create an account.
- Your wardrobe stays on your phone. Everything you save lives on your device.
- AI requests aren't sold, and their content isn't kept unless you ask. Our server keeps a technical record of each AI request (which feature, when, whether it worked) for 30 days, without your photos or wardrobe details. If you turn on "Help improve the AI" in Settings, we also keep the photos you add, the AI's answers and the changes you make to them for up to 30 days, so we can improve recognition and outfit ideas. It's off unless you turn it on, and we never use any of it for advertising.
What stays on your phone
Your wardrobe is saved only in the app's storage on your device. That includes:
- the outfit photos you add
- the pieces cropped from them
- their names and tags
- the outfits you choose to wear
- what you wrote under "My preferences"
We don't have a copy. Deleting an item in the app removes it, and deleting the app removes all of it.
What the app sends, and why
The app connects only to our own server, which runs on Cloudflare, and asks for your permission before it sends your first photo. It sends three kinds of information.
Outfit photos you choose to add. The app shrinks each photo and sends it so AI can find each piece of clothing and suggest its tags. Before a photo leaves your device, the app removes its metadata, including the location where it was taken.
Wardrobe details. When you ask for an outfit or a swap, the app sends:
- the names, tags and descriptions of your pieces (not their photos)
- the occasion you picked or typed
- what you wrote under "My preferences", such as that you run warm
- for outfit ideas, the outfits you chose to wear in the past week (which pieces, and how many days ago), so today's idea doesn't repeat them
- your app language
Your approximate location, for weather. When you open outfit suggestions, our server looks up the local forecast. It uses the rough location of your internet connection, based on your IP address and usually accurate to about a city. The app never uses your device's GPS and never asks for location permission.
We don't use any of this for advertising, we don't sell it, and we don't build a profile of you. The app contains no third-party analytics or advertising tools.
Helping improve the AI (optional)
Settings has one switch, Help improve the AI. It's off until you turn it on, in the permission sheet before your first photo or later in Settings.
While it's on, our server keeps, for each AI request you make:
- the photo you added, and the wardrobe details, occasion, preferences, recently worn outfits and language sent with the request
- the AI's answer
- what you did with it: which detected pieces you kept, merged or retagged, and whether an outfit was worn, refreshed or a piece swapped
We use this only to check and improve how the AI recognises clothes and puts outfits together. It isn't linked to an account or device id, isn't used for advertising, and is deleted from our server within 30 days. Turn the switch off at any time to stop sharing; to have what was already shared deleted sooner, email us.
Who processes it
We use these providers to run the app. They process data on our behalf.
Cloudflare hosts our server and delivers requests to it. Cloudflare keeps technical request logs for up to 7 days for security and troubleshooting. These logs can include your IP address and the approximate location derived from it.
Google Cloud (Gemini on Vertex AI) analyzes your photos and writes outfit suggestions.
- Google doesn't use this data to train its AI models.
- Google may cache requests in memory for up to 24 hours to answer faster.
- If Google's automated safety systems flag a request as possible abuse of its services, Google may keep that request for up to 90 days to review it.
Open-Meteo provides the weather forecast. It receives only rounded coordinates (to about 1 km) from our server, never your IP address.
Our server keeps a technical record of each AI request for 30 days: which feature, when, how long it took, whether it worked, the app language and the AI model used. That record holds no photo, wardrobe content or IP address. The content of a request is kept only while "Help improve the AI" is on, as described above. Our own error logs record what went wrong technically, not your photos or wardrobe content.
Camera and photos
The app uses the camera only when you choose to take a photo in the app. It reads only the photos you pick from your library.
Children
The app isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Security
Everything sent between the app and our server is encrypted with HTTPS. The keys for the AI service are kept on our server, not in the app.
Your choices and rights
- You decide which photos to add, and you can delete any item or the whole app at any time.
- Unless you turn on "Help improve the AI", we don't keep your photos or wardrobe details, and there's no account to connect them to, so we usually hold nothing we could identify as yours.
- You can turn "Help improve the AI" off at any time in Settings. Anything already shared is deleted within 30 days, or sooner if you email us.
- If you have a question or a request about your data, for example under the GDPR or CCPA, contact us at r22723575@gmail.com.
Where data is processed
Our providers may process data in the United States and in other countries where they operate.
Changes to this policy
When our practices change, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
